I am still trying to perfect some sort of method to paint flowers so they look realistic. This sketch I drew from referring to a small bread and butter plate I have, that is china that has similar flowers around the edge. The flowers on the plate are better. But I tried to draw them enlarging them to 9 x 12 size. I painted them with acrylic, then thought they didn't look right so I added in some deep indigo inktense at the stamen area, then decided it needed some sort of highlights so added in a pearly white watercolor as a sort of frosting on them. I think if I practice for a few more years, MAYBE I will get good enough to be considered "a Master artist". So, here's this sketch. I changed the background from the white porcelain plate to the green just because flowers usually are amongst green grass. Some artists of previous centuries painted flowers spectacularly well. And some contemporary artists do also. I am still trying to teach myself the right combination of techniques to paint anything I want to paint, and to design as I go, creating new original pieces of art. This is my sketchbook of the moment. I made it, signed it, photographed it at various stages, uploaded it and posted it as is my usual routine for posting art to my blogs. The ID thieves named "Iconosquare" are criminal hackers who tried to hijack my real name, my content, my identity and my blogs & they should be arrested for fraud, ID theft, and cybercrime. I do not have any affiliation of any sort with the group iconosquare and do not know who they are but Google alerted me that they are using my real name of Gloria Poole, and putting what may be content they stole from me behind a black screen that requires a log in and registration.
