Gloria summing up 2020 to ring in New Year

It's safe to say the entire world is happy to see 2020 go! It has been an awful, terrible, no-good, miserable year of pandemic viral threats, never-ending news stories about them , ratcheted up creation of new vaccines bypassying the usual clinical trails over years of time, and nightly news reviews of body bags, hospitals putting patients in conference rooms because no beds available, health care and first responders'comments etc etc etc. I feel overwhelmed at times and I am a so-called "health care professional"for many years.

I think 2021 has to be a better year! I am cautiously optimistic about it that we the people of the United States will survive as a people and thrive over time. So keep your chin up, get on your knees and pray when you feel afraid, wash your hands frequently, avoid crowds, wear your masks everywhere to protect yourself and others [covid is airborne vector] . Do your part to stay healthy.

On a lighter note, today as I was reading my email, I learned there is a bulldog, a horse, a water fall, 2 streets [one in S.C. and one in California] and a charity, and a hotel all named Gloria; ! And don't forget Laura Branigan's "Gloria" song that the St Louis baseball played at their games in 2020. So it seems the name Gloria is in the radar of Google and thank goodness! That is my name too!

I put my first name in title of this blog just so readers know it's me. There has been massive identity theft of my created content in which about 10,000 photos I photographed with my big digital camera were stolen off my Apple imac computer as I was uploading them it seems. I had 9,000 + photos to upload and it said only about 4000 uploaded then at my next login those 4000 photos had vanished--stolen off computer! It seems impossible to secure the internet!

On the topic of the internet here are some of the news stories this final day of 2020 that all should probably read:

1) FBI needs to read this :"Though some researchers say that the scale and severity of ransomware attacks crossed a bright line in 2020, others describe this year as simply the next step in a gradual and, unfortunately, predictable devolution. After years spent honing their techniques, attackers are growing bolder. They've begun to incorporate other types of extortion like blackmail into their arsenals, by exfiltrating an organization's data and then threatening to release it if the victim doesn't pay an additional fee. Most significantly, ransomware attackers have transitioned from a model in which they hit lots of individuals and accumulated many small ransom payments to one where they carefully plan attacks against a smaller group of large targets from which they can demand massive ransoms. The antivirus firm Emsisoft found that the average requested fee has increased from about $5,000 in 2018 to about $200,000 this year."...

Researchers and incident responders are wholly focused on trying to change ransomware's threatening course. On Monday, the Institute for Security and Technology launched a Ransomware Task Force with partners like Microsoft, the Shadowserver Foundation, Citrix, and McAfee. ...

Mandiant's Carmakal also notes that some major law enforcement actions related to ransomware will become public in 2021. “We’ll see the fruits of that in the coming months," he says. “Law enforcement is particularly interested in arrests and indictments that can have a real impact on threat actors." International cooperation to apprehend and prosecute individuals is crucial to making a dent in the problem. There may also need to be other strong policy efforts from countries like the US, such as sanctions against countries that harbor ransomware actors."

"Flying humans on its Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon spacecraft is only part of what’s on tap for SpaceX. The company continues to test its Starship spacecraft, a next-generation vehicle that looks like a flying grain silo but, Musk hopes, will one day fly people to Mars."

Quote from article written by Liam Barnes of BBC News:

"A man has been arrested on suspicion of fraud and money laundering as part of a police probe into an international operation of fraudulent offers of drone light shows. Nottinghamshire Police said the force made its first-ever seizure of cryptocurrency - a digital form of money traded online and exchanged in a similar way to traditional units of currency - worth about £78,000 after executing a warrant on 7 December"."

And of course today 31st December 2020 is the final day that the United Kingdom is a part of the European Union.

The Brexit deal is signed by Boris Johnson Prime Minister of UK and Ursula vonder Leyden of European Union yesterday. Some of its terms are:

" * Businesses offering services, such as banking, architecture and accounting, will lose their automatic right of access to EU markets and will face some restrictions.

* There will no longer be automatic recognition of professional qualifications for people such as doctors, chefs and architects."

Summing up: goodbye to ransomware thieves, good bye to UK:EU "partnership"; good bye to coronavirus; HELLO 2021 from Gloria Poole, Registered Nurse, ands artist, cartoonist, writer, author in Springfield Missouri. Posted by me Gloria today 31December 2021 at 11am from my own apartment on my own equipment.

Update at 11:16am by me Gloria: I tried to use Google drive to create a new document and it said it is published to the web at:

https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/e/2PACX-1vRlnBssKxdicxWXraZl4oni31MVjFRQB_XVBwqNWNI2_cK3y_frhGD6RHRGxt0kmVyBwVEE3GTzjIgG/pub?w=960&h=720

The more Google ïmproves"their service the more difficult it gets to actually use some of their services. I think that is because of multiple anti-trust actions against them which is causing their algorithyms and proprietary code to be put into legal databases available to competitors on the web. So the antitrust actions are another 2020 event that is catastrophic for consumers.

USA: beware of spy company Palantir

Palantir's CEO is neo-Nazi per article and they have their HQ in Denver, Co,which is an evil place:

https://www.bbc.com/news/business-54348456

w quotes from article:"But the company, which takes its name from the "seeing stones" known for their power and potential to corrupt in Lord of the Rings, says the need for the kind of software it sells "has never been greater".....

The firm, which launched in 2003 with backing from right-wing libertarian tech investor Peter Thiel and America's Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), builds programs that integrate massive data sets and spit out connections and patterns in user-friendly formats.....

But Palantir's rise has been shadowed by concerns from privacy experts, who say the firm's tools enable surveillance and analysis of data - everything from drivers licenses and social media posts to DNA swabs - that skirts people's right to privacy and is ripe for abuse."...

By contrast, chief executive Alex Karp, who met Mr Thiel when they both attended Stanford Law School, is a self-described neo-Marxist and "card-carrying progressive", with a doctorate degree in neo-classical social theory from a Goethe University in Germany"...

Article on web 2 Oct 2020; 10:42am.

"Also, this article about citizens being relentlessly spied on and manipulated by tech companies:

Quote:" Our social media platforms are powered by a surveillance-based business model designed to mine, manipulate, and extract our human experiences at any cost, causing a breakdown of our information ecosystem and shared sense of truth worldwide. This extractive business model is not built for us but built to exploit us.

A third of American adults, and nearly half of those aged 18-29, say they are online “almost constantly”. But, unlike the citizens of Brave New World, we’re miserable. As our time online has gone up, so have anxiety, depression and suicide rates, particularly among youth.

Social media is also derailing productive public discourse. A largely ignored internal memo to senior executives at Facebook in 2018 explained: “Our algorithms exploit the human brain’s attraction to divisiveness.” Left unchecked, the algorithms will feed users “more and more divisive content in an effort to gain user attention and increase time on the platform”....

"In The Social Dilemma, Tristan Harris, a former Google design ethicist and the co-founder of the Center for Humane Technology, points out that far before technology overpowers human strengths, it will overwhelm human weaknesses. Sophisticated algorithms learn our emotional vulnerabilities and exploit them for profit in insidious ways.

By surveilling nearly all of our online activity, social media platforms can now predict our emotions and behaviors. They leverage these insights and auction us to the highest advertising bidder,"

All christians especially have to be on alert to the ways in which we collectively are spied on, targeted on web, and suppressed by algorithyms of pagan tech companies. We have to know enough to help protect ourselves on the web and when utilizing computers/tablets/laptoprs/smartphones connected to web.

Panda sketch by Gloria Poole of Springfield Missouri

I, Gloria, am adding this sketch that I drew in a different year to this blog of mine for a reason. I am the same, unmarried, white woman who has written my real born with name of Gloria Poole as gloriapoole on the web since about 1996. I had domains with my name written that way until they were stolen from me by identity thieves who used stolen actual things such as bank card info, identifying documents with my signature on them, personal items such as my Bible that had my name Gloria Poole etched in gold on front cover. The internet is a dangerous place that facilitates identity theft, compromises a person's integrity and puts all created, original content at risk of being stolen.

As for banks, who can explain their willingness to concede all their assets to Apple, Google & Microsoft? Fintech i.e. apps that withdraw money from actual banks' accounts with or without permission, are changing the politico-legal environment in US and world. Unlike in actual stores, people who shop on web don't have to prove they are the person who owns the card they are using, nor does fintech even ask the account owner's name.

I worry that the entire United States is being fleeced by ruthless, ungodly people, with no knowledge of The Saviour Jesus, nor any morals or business ethics.

I follow the European news and I know that Europe especially Germany has much stricter privacy laws. I also know there is on-going conflict between U.S. and Europe over that fact, as Europe wants to prevent US law from prevailing when their citizens are at risk. The BIG TECHNOLOGY companies are pumped up in stock market every time they are summoned to Congress to market their CEO's and their products. I know Congress thinks they are "punishing big tech" but they are giving them the sort of publicity money cannot buy and picking winners and losers by the power of the purse to award business contracts. All of that is not what our federal government is supposed to be doing!

Since I am a US citizen born in US, but with European and British heritages [ my mother MJBP] has German ancestors, & my father's [ HIP,Jr] surname originated in Poole,England] I see both sides of the issue. I often think on this problem--how people anywhere are going to survive as real people when their entire lives are "captured digitally" and stored for ease of reference in many many many databases around the world that can all be hacked and are often hacked?? What happens to the human race?

The sketch of the panda bear I drew and painted when Bloomberg LP was gathering people to go to Beijing for a "conference" there in 2019. The panda is one of the national symbols of China and they seriously protect their panda population. I have always been interested in China since I read a book as a child about a Baptist missionary, and the missionary was Corrie Ten Boom. As a christian, I acknowledge The Great Commission which is written, "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, 'all power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth. go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Ghost; teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you, and lo, I AM, with you always, even unto the end of the world." Matthew 28:18-20, King James Holy Bible.

There is no one who is authorized to be in my apartment but me, and there is no one who is authorized to sign my name to anything but me. I have never given my 2nd exhusband DBP any right nor authority to have possession of anything of mine nor to be in my apartment and he has no lawful authority over me and is in fact, my enemy who tried to kill me four times in years 2003-2006, & again in 2012. He would be in federal prison if I were a democrat. The so called law of the west does not acknowledge women as persons but as chattel.

Call it what you want but the fact of the matter is I create the content I post and I have legal rights as a U.S. citizen and as a tenant in Missouri, who pays rent on a particular apartment which is supposed to be private which means not open to other people to walk in when they feel like it nor to loot my possessions. It saddens me that Missouri does not really acknowledge the U S Constitution and its right to privacy and to be free from unlawful searches and seizures by fake real estate managers [i.e. unlicensed off the street people labeled "managers" for the sake of saving managing company money to hire licensed people].

IF I had known when the internet began how unsafe it s, I would not have ever begun with it. But I did, and because a folder of more than 6,000 photos that I photographed and uploaded, was ripped off my Apple iMac last week with dozens if not hundreds of my family photos in it, I think I have to do what I can to alert the public and banks and law enforcement [FBI] to that fact.

Apple iMac computers all in one are not secure and public should know that.

Update same day at 7:18am to share this very good thing--a video that ABC news sent to me via email that is worth listening too:

This blog belongs to me Gloria Poole of Springfield Missouri

I am adding in a previous selfie of me of necessity. There was a deliberate attempt on the web by bad people to steal my identity [professional status as Registered Nurse] and my real born with name of Gloria Poole. This selfie is one that Google has in archives of me and it is on another blog of mine also and was on a twitter account of mine that I.D. thieves tried to steal. This image of that particular selfie of me seems different from "wear and tear" I suppose since it has endured about 5 different computers. I do not have freckles nor grey hair. My hair is brown and long.

I am updating my blogs one by one in past week or two and so far have updated these:
https://gloriapoole-RN-artist.blogspot.com
https://tapestry-of-life-LLP.blogspot.com
https://prolife-nurse.blogspot.com
https://gloriapoole.blogspot.com

I have discovered the hard way that certain brands of computers just ASSUME white women are married and that somewhere lurking in hiding space is a man who really owns everything. But alas, I am still unmarried and still live alone in the same apartment in Springfield Missouri that I moved into on 1 Oct 2018.

I also still have most of the phone numbers I have had for years including the number that was my landline phone in Columbia Missouri for 9 years but now it is a cell phone. If you are trying to contact me, call me, email me or write me via U S mail.

This is a basic post trying to reclaim my accounts from I.D. thieves.

Today is 2nd June 2020 at 8pm central time. I, Gloria Poole, am a white, single-again, christian woman, and a Registered Nurse and artist in all mediums. I am still creating art and will post it as soon as I can be reasonably sure it won't be ripped off by a criminal stalker breaking into my accounts with stolen information.
